Auctioned vehicles rise in September

According to Used Car, Inc., the number of auctioned vehicles rose 4.4% on the year to 574,843 units in September. It was the first increase in three months.

Sold vehicles at auction sites in September across Japan were 348,005 units, up 12.8% on the year. The sum of sold vehicle value rose 7.5% on the year to 176.43 billion yen.

The rate of sold vehicles to total exhibits stood at 60.5%, which is an increase of 4.5 percentage points from year-ago result.

The average sold price per vehicle also increased by 25,000 yen to 507,000 yen.

USS Tokyo maintained the top place with the average 11,451 units of auctioned vehicles per single auction, followed by HAA Kobe(7,904 units), USS Nagoya(6,676), CAA Chubu(4,416), JU Gifu (4,110), Uss Yokohama (3,482), Ju Saitama(3,204), Arai Oyama Van/Truck (3,070), USS Kyushu (3,058), USS Kyushu (3.058), and Aucnet (2,959).

Sri Lanka, Mongolia rising

Russia Maintained the No.1 position of the top destinations for used vehicle exports.  The average FOB price which has been running above last year’s Levels until last month, however, remained flat compared with the yera-ago result. Exported vehicles to that nation totaled 9,228 units, up 108.8% on the year.

Exports to Chile totaled 6,321 vehicles, up 18.5%. Used vehicles bound for U.A.E. rose 2.6% to 5,430 units.

Exports to New Zealand totaled 5,362 units. The average FOB price sharply declined by about 70,000 yen from a year earlier.

Used vehicles bound for South Africa declined 30.3% to 5,189 units. The avearge Fob price declined by about 20,000 yen.

Exports to Sri Lanka, ranked 6th, jumped from previous year’s 179 units to 4,385 vehicles. Demand for Japanese used vehicles, including Toyota Allion, is still strong there. The average FOB price also remained in the over I million-yen mark.

Notably, exports to Venezuela were 210 units in September. Last year’s exports to that nation totaled only one unit.

In the first 9 months. used 625,572 units, up 36.1% from a year earlier.

Used vehicles exports in September up 16%

Used vehicle exports in September totaled 69,147 units, an increase of 16.8% from a year earlier, according to the Ministry of Finace Customhouse statistics. Strong demand for Japanese used cars especially in Russia, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Myanmar, Kyrgyz, China and Zambia contributed to the 9th consecutive month of double-digit increase. The September total also was a 6.5% increase compared with the previous month.

According to the analysis conducted by the International Auto Trade Association(iATA), 9 countries in the top 25 destinations saw year-on-year decreases for September, compared with 10 for August.

Deregistered vehicles for export soar in August

The number of deregistered vehicles for export purpose totaled 114,499 units in August, up 117.8% from a year earlier. This is the first increase in three months.

According to the August total was made up of 34,582 medium- to large-size passenger cars, up 144.9%, 56,326 small passenger cars, up 137.5%, 5,752 medium- to heavy-duty trucks, up 38.8%, 14,611 light trucks, up 72.2%, 777 buses, up 49.4%, 2,451 special purpose vehicles and others, up 55.8%.

Toyota’s share stood at 58.9%, 2.5 percentage points larger than previous month.

In the January-August period, deregsitered vehicles totaled 635,678 units, down 8.6%
