Sales of over-1,000cc engine used vehicles in November rose for the first time in two months due to increased trade-ins of older vehicles.

Used vehicle sales in November totaled 305,549 units, up 3.3% on the year.

The November totale was made up of 262,788 cars, up 3.5%, 34,481 trucks , up 2.3%, and 842 buses, down 18.4%.

In the first eleven months of 2010, sales of used vehicles totaled 3,621,897 units, down 2.8%

Declined year-on-year gap of Japanese auto sales has widened after government scrap incentive program ends.

Combind sales of over 1,000cc engine vehicles (so-called ”Tourokusho”) and minivehicles in November totaled 323,600 units, down 25.9% compared to the previous year.

Sales of new vehicles, excluding under 660cc-engine minivehicles, totaled 203,246 units, down 30.7% from year-ago result. It also marked the second-lowest November figure following the 193,315 units recorded in November 1969.

Notably, small car sales declined 40.1% year-on-year to 90,173 units, the lowest ever figure.

In January-November, over-1,000cc vehicle sales were 3,050,050 units, up 14.2% from the same period last year.
